Batman Forever Review

Disclaimer: Contains spoilers!

Plot Summary: Batman is back with a new, idiotic take on the franchise as he battles the Riddler and Two Face while gaining an ally in Robin.

Review: Continuing with my reviews of the Batman franchise, I must say, I HATE this movie! It starts off with a terrible joke and only goes downhill from there; way to set the tone right from the start of the nightmare to come. Everything about this movie sucks! The only redeemable elements are that Nicole Kidman looks "smokin'" (yes, lame Jim Carrey pun) and there are a few entertaining moments. This movie tries so hard to be funny and fails so epically; why would you want to go back to the camp of the '60s TV show anyway? Talk about one of the worst turns in direction you can possibly fathom. At least "Batman and Robin" was so bad it was good, but this movie is just plain stupid. There are so many cringe-worthy moments to a Batman fan that it becomes infuriating! I mean, seriously, Bruce Wayne will give up being Batman over some lame love interest after failed relationships in the last two movies? There's also no continuity between this movie and the last two despite mentioning Catwoman. I really had to challenge myself to sit through this two hour long piece of garbage. The acting is bad (especially from Val Kilmer with a pitiful take on the character), the plot is ridiculously moronic, and it loses extra points for ruining one of the most iconic fictional characters. Avoid this film like the plague and realize it earned the hate it has gathered over the years; the irony is that people are beginning to come out saying this was good in response. Now that is fucking funny!

Notable Moment: Probably the end credits. I know that is meant to sound funny, but I mean it. We hear the "Kissed by a Rose" song and that's better than this whole sad excuse for a movie.

Final Rating: 3/10
