Yo-Yo Girl Cop Review

Check out my updated, and best review EVER for this beloved classic: http://thevagrantrises.blogspot.com/2014/08/updated-review-5-yo-yo-girl-cop.html

Disclaimer: Contains spoilers!

Plot Summary: A skilled, rogue fighter is recruited by a secret division of the Japanese police to infiltrate a highschool and uncover a terrorist plot.

Review: Okay, I have to say this movie is cheesy as all hell, but I love it nonetheless. The main reason I watched it is because it stars the woman I find to be the most beautiful in the world: Rika Ishikawa (playing the villain Reika). Rika was a member of the legendary J-pop group, Morning Musume, which is owned by a group called "Hello! Project." The other three main female leads, besides Rika, are all singers within this H!P group. The main character, the sexy yo-yo girl cop herself, Asamiya, is played by an equally stunning woman named Aya Matsuura. The other girls are also totally hot since they, led by Rika, form a trio called V-u-den sometimes called Biyuuden; their names are Yui Okada and Erika Miyoshi and are definitely worth a look as well! Alright, now that I have cleared up all the main reasons why I like this movie, I will lay out the bad. The action is lame and too spread out, the main villain's plan is stupid as are all his goons (save for Rika), the effects are weak, and overall the plot is ridiculously farfetched. The whole point of the movie was that these wannabe tough guys (if you watch enough Japanese movies you'll know the cliche) want to get sad dorks to blow themselves up to distract from their scheme to rob a bank or something like that. When you factor in that they are targeting high school kids for some reason, it really makes no sense why these thieves are going about things in such a roundabout way. Also, the fighting with yo-yos is pretty damn stupid, but the lovely ladies in this film can make anything look sexy. But despite virtually nothing being good about this film's story, it starts to become so corny it entertains. In fact, there are many films like this in Japan, that sort of revel in their own asinine plots, that they are meant to appeal to a certain audience that appreciates such things. Realistically, this is a slightly below average film, but I had to give extra points for all the smoking hot babes! If you don't enjoy seeing beautiful Japanese women fight with yo-yos, as I do, you will probably want to avoid this movie. However, if the ridiculousness of the plot entices you in the slightest it probably means you will enjoy this movie. Hell, check it out just for Rika!

Notable Moment: When Asamiya puts on her sexy, skintight body suit and fights Reika. Oh lord, I'm in heaven.

Final Rating: 10/10 (all drooling aside 5/10)

Ms. Ishikawa

Ms. Matsuura
